Did you think that it’s right for the Goverment to vote on the law of Gay’s not to be able to get married? How in the world are they going to get it passed because to me if they don’t pass it, it goes back to black’s trying to get their right’s. If you have something to say about this then reply back on this fast and quick for me.

This makes no sense. are trying to say no to this or not.you reference the fact that it would go back to the civil rights debate of the 50′s and 60′s but this was passed so I can’t understand why you say at the same time that you don’t think that the law will ever get passed. I’m not trying to be mean or any thing but I think you should rethink the way that word things and maybe do some more research on the topic before you post. When I say this I hope that I don’t sound to much like I approve of gay marriage. I believe that it is totally immoral and in every way goes against the teachings of the Bible witch says the \at the sacrament of marriage is a sacred and holy thing reserved for a man and a woman. It is wrong for a man and a man to get married.

What are you trying to say? I just do not get it. Your phrasing is wrong and confusing. Also I need, and I think we all need a little more correct view of your opinion. We also need a little more factual info. I think you need to rethink your wording so as not to sound offensive. but don’t look at this as if I am in favor of gay marrige because I am definitely NOT. I think it is not correct in any way. So…to sum it up…think before you speak, or in this case type.

I think that you aren’t really looking at this at all because “Gay’s” are people just like black’s are and they had to fight for their rights and so are the one’s for Gay or not. People are so very closed minded in the South and I don’t really like that because people have a heart and a soul. Gay people in the South really work a lot harder than straight people do because they are going to get something done and not put it off to the side like straight people do. Don’t say what you don’t know because other people have feelings just like you.

Segregation has already been issued and intergration has happened, it will not happen again.Gays, they will get married whether or not the government says so or not. And it shouldn’t be the governments decision, if they can not get married.

This is so backwards what aree you trying to say? This makes no sence. Think about what you write before you write it.

And also why do you compare this to the intelligence of the two. I think you need to educate yourself on the debate a little more because obviously you don’t know a thing about the rights they are fighting for.

…Also African-Americans were discriminated against because of the color of their skin, but being gay is a lifestyle choice. Making a choice doesn’t give a person special rights.

I think these are interesting posts and reponses. I think Michael G. makes a good point, one that most gay activists do, that the fight for civil rights for homosexuals in many ways mirrors the fight African Americans went through to gain their civil rights.
I agree with some of the commentary that you, Michael, should do a little more research and be a little clearer in the way you present your argument.
Whenever you express your opinion about topics such as Gay/Lesbian civil rights you run the risk of receiving a lot of criticism from religious groups. I think it is important to note the distinction between “marriage” and “civil unions”. At this point the words are used interchangeably within our law code which poses a problem. There is a difference, however, in the two. Perhaps this is something all the commenters should look into.
